What Does MMH Stand For?

MMH stands for Men’s Mental Health. It reflects our aim to make men’s mental health information, signposting, and external support options easier to find, understand, and approach.

mmh” is also a sound people use when listening, thinking, or encouraging someone to keep talking. That fits the purpose of MMH: helping men find information, services, groups, and public resources in a way that feels more approachable.

Find Support. Your Way.

Everyone’s path is different. We help with the signposts.

Why MMH CIC Exists

MMH CIC was founded from lived experience and a simple problem: finding support can feel harder than it should. When you are struggling, searching through scattered websites, unfamiliar services, and unclear options can feel like another barrier.

MMH CIC exists to make men’s mental health support options easier to find by pointing men towards external services, peer-support groups, helplines, public resources, and general information.

Every man’s situation is different. MMH does not provide direct support, counselling, diagnosis, or crisis intervention. We help with the signposts.

Why Men’s Mental Health Visibility Matters

Suicide is reported as a leading cause of death among men under 50 in the UK. Yet, many continue to face mental health challenges alone: often due to stigma, uncertainty about where to turn, or the fear of being judged.

At MMH CIC, we believe that everyone should know what support options are out there, and how to access them in a way that feels right for them.

Our platform was created to provide information and signpost to external services that may help. The figures below highlight why raising awareness and increasing visibility of support matters so much.

Why Men’s Mental Health Signposting Matters

These figures highlight why clear information, trusted signposting and accessible routes into support matter.

“I created MMH because I know how it feels to be in that dark place, feeling there is only one way out.
Scrolling through my phone, needing help, but feeling no-one cares, no-one will listen. There are people that care, they will listen. You matter and there is no shame in needing help. Reach out.

— Adam, Founder of MMH Men’s Mental Health CIC

How MMH CIC Plays Its Part

MMH CIC aims to make it easier for men to explore support options in a way that feels right for them. We do not provide direct help, therapy, diagnosis, medical advice, or crisis support. Our role is to improve visibility of external support options and reduce some of the confusion around where to look.

Here’s how the platform supports that mission:

Empathetic & Informative Content

Clear, straightforward articles and guides that explain common issues affecting men and outline general options that may be worth exploring.

Resource Visibility

A central space for external links to peer-support groups, helplines, therapy directories, public resources, and mental health organisations.

Shared Understanding

Content that encourages open conversation, reduces stigma, and helps make common challenges feel easier to recognise and talk about.
